I got my parents all excited by showing them pictures from all of my hiking trips to the various national parks, and they agreed to go on a weekend hike & campout in New Hampshire's White Mountains. I chose what turned out to be too-tough-a-hike, a 4 mile, 4500 feet ascent to Sandwich mountain. We managed to only make it to Noon peak, but even that was a feat for both Mom and Liza. We then camped out in a park campground -- the first night in a tent for my sister -- and continued with an easy but amazingly beautiful 2 mile walk in the Flume Gorge.
